Giving Back Where It Matters Most: Watson Companies Joins QXO’s Beacon of Hope Project

Last week, the Watson Companies team had the incredible honor of participating in QXO’s Beacon of Hope Project, an initiative focused on giving back to those who’ve given so much. In partnership with Homes for Heroes, we helped provide a brand-new roof to a deserving U.S. veteran - a small gesture that means the world to someone who’s served our country selflessly.

First launched in 2019, QXO’s Beacon of Hope identifies deserving veterans and Gold Star families across the U.S. and Canada to receive fully funded, high-quality roofs. Now in its sixth year, the program has installed over 50 roofs, including on two community buildings and 14 private homes each year. By involving employees, partners, and contractors nationwide, QXO brings communities together to build secure homes and hope for veterans.

The veteran who was selected for the new roof shared that when he first got the call, he thought it was a prank. It seemed too good to be true. But once it sank in, the gratitude and joy were unmistakable. Seeing his reaction - a mix of disbelief, relief, and pure happiness - reminded all of us just how powerful this kind of support can be.

This project holds special meaning for us. At Watson Companies, supporting veterans isn’t just a cause - it’s personal. Several of our own team members have proudly served in the military, collectively completing 15 combat deployments. For them - and for all of us - being part of a project like this is more than just installing a roof. It’s honoring service, protecting families, and standing in gratitude.

We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this effort and thankful to QXO  for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful cause. Projects like this remind us why we do what we do - and the impact we can make when we do it together.

One roof at a time, we’re committed to building more than just buildings. We’re building community, connection, and care.
